Clay Blogged: "Warning"

Clay posted a new public blog about a serious subject.
Warning

I'm a little late on this one, but... be careful. Don't breathe in around me!

In debating the School Violence Prevention Act during a legislative session, NC General Assembly Minority Leader Skip Stam (R*-Wake) said that "explicitly protecting gay kids from bullying would lead to pedophilia and gay marriage," The man, who has obviously come unhinged from reality also argued that gay parents are "more dangerous than second-hand smoke."

I hope I haven't caused any health problems for any of you!

What a dumbass!

Do enough of you guys live in southern Wake County to help him lose his job next year?

c
So, will Perez Hilton or any of the other media pick this up like they do anything else about Clay, or will they ignore it because it is a thoughtful opinion about a serious subject?

Yeah for Clay Aiken! I'm glad he brought it to our attention.
It's scary there are so many idiots in the world today.

You go Mr. Clay Aiken!
I hope more people will see this elected official as the dumbass that he is.

The media will ignore it. THey only want to report on something scandalous about Clay Aiken. Forget important topics.......the media sucks. Good for Clay for pointing this out. That senator is an ass.

Showing Clay Aiken as a positive force for gay rights isn't on the agenda of the tabloids and haters.

This representative needs to give up his seat. Thanks to Clay Aiken for bringing this info to us.

Will PH mention this? No. He only wants to snicker about Clay Aiken and intelligent caring man who happens to be gay.

The Perez Hiltons of this world don't care about protecting children from bullys and bigots. They don't care about equal rights for all. All they care about is publicity for themselves and they will trash anyone to get it.

I love that Clay speaks up on what he believes is important.

Thanks for the blog!!

Well, will wonders never cease - Perez Hilton actually did pick it up. Bravo to one Mr. Clay Aiken - not only is his talent amazing - he's so very intelligent.

Good for Clay Aiken for speaking up. It's outrageous for an elected official to make remarks like this idiot did. He needs to be put out of office. I hope enough people have spoken out about this to cause this jerk a lot of backlash!

I am glad to see that this information is being passed around. This man needs to be known for the bigot he is!!

Thank you, Clay Aiken, for informing us and thanks to this blog too.

It's amazing how bigoted people can be and they don't even seem to know it. He is so ignorant!!

It is good to see Clay Aiken speaking out about injustices. However, I am not surprised. He has always been a support for what is right!!

Thank you for blogging about this.

Clay Aiken was being kind when he called this man a dumbass!! Asses (mules) are stubborn, but this man is not only stubborn, he is bigoted and just plain mean!

Thank God for Clay Aiken and that he isn't afraid to speak his mind.

Clay Aiken always stands up for what he believes...good for him!

I think Clay Aiken is right to bring attention to the disparity between gay and straight in this country and to expose the bigotry of those who hold public office.

fgs said...

It's good to see Clay comfortable enough to speak up like that. Clay has always been about inclusion.

What an intelligent, perceptive man! Smart, talented, sexy, articulate---he has it all. And he is so right on the money about this bigoted jerk. Yeah,Clay!

I just don't understand what motivates some people. One would think that the right to safety and the right to privacy would be fundamental basic rights that everyone could agree on - regardless of race, sex, age, religion or sexual orientation.

Thank you to Mr. Aiken, and anyone else out there, who is drawing attention to the REAL problem of being gay in our society today (no wonder gay teens have a much higher suicide rate than their peers).

Bigotry lives on in our country and it takes everyone's voice to bring attention to it and to fight it. Everyone deserves respect.

The older I get the more I see that some things just haven't changed. It's very sad.

I was shocked to hear that PH DID pick this up on his blog. But it was a newsworthy comment by Clay. Good for him - he has a mind of his own and isn't afraid to use his voice.

Amazing that an elected official would voice such thoughts, let alone think this way. I realize that ignorance lives amongst us but keep it out of politics.

His blog brought awareness to those of us living in NC, that we don't vote for this idiot next year. Thanks for the heads up Clay.

lulu said...

It was good that the NC assembly voted this down, but it should never have been introduced to begin with. I'm happy Clay Aiken alerted us, too.

There are no words. Amazing.

Clay is an amazing man - talented, intelligent, caring. He really does have it all.

Marty said...

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. AND.......thanks to Clay Aiken for speaking out!!

It's difficult to believe that an elected official sworn to uphold the law and protect the citizens of this state could actually speak out to withhold protection for some children, for any reason whatsoever.

katy said...

Clay Aiken continues to speak out against injustice in our society. We need to listen.

Since several issues have been raised since President Obama took office I have done some serious research, ie: abortion, gay rights, etc.

Check your facts, regarding pedophiles and homosexuals and what this issue is really about. You can find statistics right here on the internet that may or maynot surprise you.

Clay, do I think you are a danger, no, but do I think there are some who can be - yes.
