Clay Aiken Was Not Dropped By The Bubel/Aiken Foundation

Recently there was a false rumor spread about Clay Aiken's standing with his own foundation. After the new name for the foundation was prematurely released, it was falsely presumed by a few that it meant that Clay Aiken was "dropped" by the foundation. However, the presumption was irrational at best since Clay is the foundation. He runs it. If he was "dropped" by it, he would have to drop himself. In any case, RadarOnline.com posted an exclusive statement from Jerry Aiken which clarifies the situation:
Only On Radar: Clay Aiken Not Nixed By Charity
Clay Aiken is not being axed by the charity he helped co-found despite internet rumors saying so, his uncle confirms to RadarOnline.com. The former American Idol star was supposedly being ditched by The B[a]ubel Aiken Foundation which recently filed papers to change their name to The National Inclusion Project.

“There have been a lot of rumors out there but Clay is very much still involved with this organization,” Jerry Aiken- who works for the charity- said. “Both he and co-founder Diane B[a]ubel will remain on the board of directors and they are committed to the charity. We are simply changing the name to simplify things to a name that represents more of what we are about.”

“A lot of people had problems pronouncing the previous name and hopefully the new title will help us with promoting our cause further. But Clay is still very much part of our future plans too.”

According to local records the foundation has registered themselves with the North Carolina Secretary Of State’s office under the new name The National Inclusion Project, Inc. The original foundation grew out of a relationship between Aiken and B[a]ubel whose son Michael B[a]ubel suffers from autism.
It is well known by the fans that Clay has been talking about the new name change for a long time and has been very enthusiastic about the change and even asked the fans for suggestions for the new name.

Congratulations to the Foundation on its new name and may it continue to be successful in promoting inclusion and bridging the gap that exists between young people with special needs and the world around them.

It is unfortunate that RadarOnline.com misspelled the name "Bubel".

Clay is the heart of the foundation. I am so proud of him and the work his foundation does. He has put together a team of wonderful, caring people who are all accomplishing great things through the foundation.

I think I'll always think of Clay's foundation as the BAF. However, I like the new name and understand Clay's reasoning for changing the name. Congratulations to the National Inclusion Project.

It is so sad that people can say whatever they want when they are on-line. Facts just don't seem to be important.

There would be no foundation if Clay was not involved. I am so proud of all that he has done with it!!

Thanks for the information.

I knew that it was ridiculous that Clay Aiken would be dropped from his own foundation. This has been his baby for over six years, no way would he walk away.

I'm glad that you're posting the accurate info that Clay is still very much involved with his foundation. He cares so much about the well-being of children, and I am absolutely certain that he's going to continue working hard on behalf of his organization.

Clay Aiken IS this foundation. I know he wants it to be more than that and it is evolving. Thanks for the clarification!

So many lies out on the internet. Thanks for making it clear that the Bubel/Aiken foundation IS a Clay Aiken inspired charity.

It is so easy on the internet to post false happenings, as we see with MJ. Tabloids and haters get joy for posting lies about celebs like Clay Aiken. They are lazy and have nothing better to do.

Of course Clay Aiken is still heavily involved with his foundation. Check the facts, people.

When Clay Aiken and Diane Bubel founded The Bubel Aiken Foundation, they knew it was a lifetime committment. It's very close to Clay's heart.

I get that not everyone is going to like Clay but what I don't understand is why some feel it's ok to spread lies about him or any other celebrity.

Where do people get these crazy ideas? How could Clay Aiken be dropped by his own foundation? Geesh! I'm glad Jerry Aiken clarified the situation, but how many media outlets will pick THAT up? Most of them are not interested in the truth. Sad!

So true, jbc. Clay Aiken is the Bubel/Aiken Foundation. A name change will never alter that fact.

It's hard to believe people would be so naive as to believe someone when they say Clay is being dropped by the Bubel Aiken Foundation. In order for that to happen, he would have to drop himself from his own foundation! Good grief! We know THAT won't happen. Clay is very dedicated to the foundaiton and it's mission!
I'm wishing continued great success to the foundation with its new name.
